So, I just finished the Cress and Fairest audiobook in about a week which means I’ve basically been over here waiting for November 10th to roll around. Since Jess already did a review on this bookI thought I’d do aTop 10 Reasons The Lunar Chronicles is Awesome.Because seriously, can we talk about how great this series is ?
*slight spoilers for Cinder*
1. Great representation of smart women ! I mean the series is about how a mechanic, pilot, computer programmer and princess are going to save the galaxy.

2. Diversity. Sometimes people of color get left out of science fiction worlds, but the Lunar Chronicles gives us plenty of POC as heroes, villains and romantic leads.
3. World Building. Literally. This story is so global! The characters are from different countries and we get to jump around continents and hemispheres.
4. The author. Marissa Meyer is always sharing information with her fans (I’ve lost years of my life on her Pinterest). Meyer was also an active member of the Sailor Moon / Firefly/ HP fandom. One of us, one of us, one of us.
5.The audiobook team. Rebecca Soler is the perfect narrator and the team behind the production bring it together perfectly.
6. The slang. I think we’ve all kind off wanted to just say spades or for all the stars
7. It doesn’t have to end. Apparently, Meyer is shopping spin-offs to her publisher.
8. Iko. I love that the character with the biggest personality is an android.
9.The publisher. From fandom contests to trip giveaways to a freaking Cress branded laptop It’s like MacMillan is running the Lunar lottery.
10. Lunartics. Because you see the fanart at the top of this post, right?
I’m a lifelong reader who started blogging about YA books in 2011 but now I read in just about every genre! I love YA coming of age stories, compelling memoirs and genre bending SFF. You can find me talking all things romance at Romance and Sensibility.
