So I just finished Marie Lu’s Young Elite’s series and…

 

Seriously

 

Did you like Nickelodeon’s Legend of Korra ?

 

 

But kind of wish the characters were more emotionally damaged by abusive childhoods ?

 

And that it leaned into the unlikeable female characters ?

Then this is the series for you ! Even the themes of the final arcs are similar.

 

 

Now that I’ve finished all of the books I think it’s safe to say Lu is breaking all the rules with this YA fantasy brimming with subversive characters in a complicated world. After everything that has happened in this series I was afraid the ending wouldn’t be satisfying but Lu did the thing and gave this series the ending it deserved. And let me tell you it was an emotional roller coaster.

Okay, back to impatiently waiting for Warcross to come out.
